Installation of individual water meters

The application for the installation of individual water supply supply(s) shall be considered once the installation of a Central Meter at the premises has been completed. Applicable only to residential buildings or subdivisions that are branched through a Central Water Meter.

Letter of readiness for installation of individual meters, with the details of the building

It is required to include:

-Name and surname of the owner/authorised representative

-Full mailing address

-Telephone number and email address of person responsible for contacting and sending final bill

-Contact details of plumber

Architectural plans of the ground floor and roof and/or engine room

-Central water meter

-Water tanks/deposits of the apartments

- Water tank and ground floor pressurizer for buildings with 2 floors and more

-manifolds with the positions of the individual meters clearly marked (apartment no. for each position in the manifold)

Apartment owners list

It is required to include:

-Apartment number

-Owner’s full name

-Identity card number

-Telephone number

- Email address

Two sets of keys or access codes for access to the building

Notes for checking before the installation of individual apartment meters

During the on-site inspection by the Technical Engineer it is checked:

- Whether the hydraulic installation has been completed.

- Whether two water valves have been installed: one after the main water meter and one before the manifold.

- That no taps have been installed at a distance of less than 2m, and no hosepipes have been installed at a distance of less than 5m, from the main water meter.

- The sockets of the individual meters must be in a horizontal position.

- If metal markings with indelible numbering of compartments are fitted to each future individual water meter socket.

- If separate dispensers are installed for each compartment, they shall have a capacity of at least 800 L per compartment.

- If a central water tank(s) is/are installed, it/they shall have a total capacity of at least 500 L multiplied by the number of compartments to be supplied with water.

- Where the use of a vertical ladder is required for the control of plumbing installations, it shall be permanently fixed and there shall be a safety canopy.

- One-way flow check valves shall be installed in the hot water system and to prevent back pressure from the pumps.

- A water tank and pump shall be installed on the ground floor of the building
