Sewer
Fees

The sewerage fees and charges are determined and collected annually by a notice in the Official Gazette of the Republic, based on the applicable legislation. The amount of the sewerage fees shall be such that the costs and expenses for the construction, operation and maintenance of the central sewerage system are adequately covered.

Sewerage fees are of two types:

ANNUAL FEE:

  • Sixty-three cents (€0.63)for every thousand euros of general assessment value as recorded or entered in the books of the Nicosia District Department of Lands and Surveys, following the last general assessment of the immovable property carried out under the provisions of Article 69 of the Immovable Property (Property, Registration and Valuation) Law, for owners or holders of immovable property located within the boundaries of the districts of Strovolos (part), Aglantzia (part), Engomi (part), Lakatamia, Latsia, Kato Deutera and Anayia, which is already served or may be served by the central sewage system.

  • Twenty cents (€0.20) for every thousand euros of general assessment value as recorded or registered in the books of the Nicosia District Department of Lands and Surveys, following the last general assessment of immovable property carried out under the provisions of Article 69 of the Immovable Property (Possession, Registration and Assessment) Law, for owners or holders of immovable property located within the boundaries of the districts of Nicosia, Ayios Dometios, part of the districts of Strovolos, Aglantzia (part), Engomi (part) and, which is already served or which may be served by the central sewage system..

  • Ten cents (€0.10)  for every one thousand euro of general valuation value, as recorded or registered in the books of the Nicosia District Department of Lands and Surveys, following the last general valuation of the immovable property carried out under the provisions of Article 69 of the Immovable Property (Possession, Registration and Valuation) Law,  for owners or holders of immovable property  located within the boundaries of the districts of Geri, Tseri, Kokkinotrimithia, Paliometocho and Ayioi Trimithias , which is already served or which may be served by the central sewage system.

  • For the areas of Solea, Communities of Kakopetria, Evrychos, Sinai Oros, Kaliana, Tempria, Linos, Korakos, Flasos and Galata please
    see the relevant Notification.

USAGE FEE:

The usage fee, which is set at 55 cents per cubic meter of water consumed, is included in the Nicosia District Local Government Organization's water supply bill for the premises and is intended to cover the costs of operation and maintenance of the system.  

For the purposes of any transfer of immovable property located within the boundaries of the districts of Nicosia, Ayios Dometios, Strovolos, Aglantzia, Engomi, Lakatameia, Latsia, Kato Deutera, Anayia, Geri, Tseri, Kokkinotrimithia, Paliometocho and Ayioı Trimithias a certificate from the Nicosia District Local Government Organization for the payment of the sewerage fees of the specific property for which the transfer is intended must be presented.

For any possible clarifications regarding the assessed value of the property, the interested residents should contact the Nicosia District Department of Lands and Surveys.
